Wynn Las Vegas just issued the following announcement regarding Cy Waits:

Cy Waits has been separated from the company and is free to pursue other interests. Wynn has no further comment on this matter.

Now it’s time to start the speculation train. Was Waits straight-up terminated? Was there a buyout? How will this impact Victor Drai’s future plans? Will Jesse Waits be in sole control of XS and Tryst, or will other executives be brought in?

Not to mention Paris Hilton is no longer welcome on-property. It appears to be a bad day to be someone who’s annoyed Steve Wynn.

UPDATE: Jesse Waits will continue in his role as General Partner in XS and Tryst, according to a Wynn spokeswoman. The resort declined comment, though, as to whether the position held by Cy Waits will be filled, or if Jesse Waits will function in a solo capacity.

On to the next.

Longtime Wynn Las Vegas club operator Victor Drai is ending his involvement with Tryst and XS. That leaves Jesse and Cy Waits as the clubs’ operators.

“In order to pursue other interests, Victor Drai has entered into an agreement with Wynn Las Vegas allowing him the ability to pursue a wide range of business opportunities which would necessitate reducing his responsibilities with our company. Hence, the relations that have worked so well for both Wynn Las Vegas and Victor Drai have come to an end on the best of terms, with the warmest possible feelings of both parties,” Wynn and Encore President Andrew Pascal said.

The rumor right now is of a potential Drai takeover of Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon, where he has his Drai’s nightclub — which is now independent. Just when we were getting used to the word “Saloon” as a fixture on a center-Strip property, too.

It’s been shakeuptastic in the nightlife world, with Pure Management Group’s Chief Marketing Officer David Krause leaving his position there.

With her World Cup globetrotting behind her (where she garnered international attention for her match-picking prowess as Paul the Octopus), Paris Hilton was back at XS Friday night. Later on, she moved over to Tryst where Montel Jordan jumped on the mic to drop “This Is How We Do It.” So, you know. Hey, the ’90s.

If this were Kourntey, all you’d see is bangs.

At the risk of Las Vegas developing dangerously low Kardashian levels, Khloe stepped in this weekend to right the ship along with husband Lamar Odom and brother Rob. He got to Encore Beach Club Friday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. with a group of 10. Khloe got to the bungalow about 20 minutes later, and Odom was the last to arrive after stopping for a sandwich. The crew stayed until around 6 p.m.

On Saturday, Odom and Kardashian turned up at XS for the NBA Summer League wrap party, along with Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant of the Thunder, Dwyane Wade of the Miami LeBrons, the Warrior’s Stephen Curry, the Bulls’ Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo of the Timberwolves and the Sixers’ Andre Iguodala. Wale jumped on stage to do a set and say goodbye to the NBA. Because apparently Wale drew NBA/USO duties for the night. He should’ve done a few Bob Hope jokes, too. Rounding out the roster at XS were Cuba Gooding Jr. and Jerry Bruckheimer, who’s deadly from outside the three-point line.

Sister club Tryst, meanwhile, got Kevin Jonas and his wife, Danielle. That’s right, the Jonas Brothers are now clubbing while Justin Bieber is in town actually performing. Oh, symbolic passing of the tween torch. It’s the circle of 12-year-old overstimulating life.

The JoBro and JoWife were also at The Bank inside Bellagio Friday night with two other couples. Married less than a year and already hanging out exclusively with couples. Your life was over before it even began, eldest Jonas.

Regis Philbin is Ryan Seacrest’s Yoda, right? By which we mean Ryan Seacrest has to carry Regis Philbin on his back through the swamps of Dagobah. That’s how you gain power in the television industry, isn’t it? We’re not sure. We never worked in TV.

Anyway. Seacrest and Philbin were at XS inside Encore on Saturday, prepartying for the Daytime Emmys. They hung out with Paris Hilton and co-owner Victor Drai at his table, while elsewhere, John Mayer partied with his friends. Just pause to let that sink in. Ryan Seacrest, John Mayer and Paris Hilton were all under one roof. It’s like a whole year of poorly thought out interview quotes all at the same time.

Over at Tryst, gold medalist Apolo Anton Ohno rolled with a group of dudes, mixing it up on the dance floor. He was not wearing all eight of his Olympic medals when he went out. We would absolutely do that. We don’t care if everyone else thought we were trying way too hard. Do they have eight medals? No. No they do not. Will girls come hang out with the guy with eight medals, or the guy with no medals? That’s what we thought.

The Hilton Sister were in effect this weekend, with Nicky handling the fashion-related chores and Paris doing … whatever it is that Paris does.

Nicky Hilton was at the Thomas Sabo grand opening at the Grand Canal Shoppes on Friday, along with Olivia Palermo and BMX rider Ricardo Laguna. Naturally, Mayor Goodman was on hand to proclaim it Thomas Sabo Day. Because that bulk palate of blank proclamation sheets aren’t going to use themselves.

Later in the night the sisters hooked up with Roberto Cavalli for dinner at Lavo with promoter Allison Melnick before going over to Tao. Then, Paris made it her third straight week at XS inside Encore where she took her spot at Victor Drai’s table. She shared a mic with Too $hort on Friday night to shout out the club. Which had to be a thrill for her as “The Ghetto” came out when she was … 9 and all. She was back for even more on Saturday.

Encore is positioning itself as the nightswimming/clubbing capital of Vegas, with both Thursday night’s pool party at Encore Beach Club and the return of the XS Sunday Night Swim this weekend. Why does something as fun as swimming after dark only have one song written about it, and it’s a dinky, depressing little R.E.M. jam? And it makes you think about Michael Stipe naked. Dammit, now we’re not staying at any pool after 6 p.m. Forget it. Click for more words and pictures »

Now that she’s single again, Paris Hilton is spending as much time here as possible. This weekend she was at XS inside Encore Friday at Victor Drai’s booth. Meanwhile, er ex, Doug Reinhardt, is busy not dating any current or former Misses USA.

Cincinnati quarterback Carson Palmer was also at the club, while thousands of Bengals fans silently hoped he didn’t pull a Romo and go the celebrity route. Or the Roethlisberger route. There’s really got to be some kind of a middle ground for quarterbacks. The Joe Namath route, maybe?

Hilton came back to XS Saturday night where she partied with former Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole and rank-and-file Playmate Kelly Carrington. Drai played host to the Mavericks’ Jason Kidd — himself formerly linked to this year’s PMOY, Hope Dworaczyk.

He’s just glad he gets a night away from Donald Jr.

Donald Trump brought trophy wife Melania to XS at Encore Saturday night where it was getting a little tycoony up in the club. Steve Wynn and owner Victor Drai both hung out with The Donald, for, what had to be the Awkward White Guys Dancing Moment of 2010. Earlier, Trump and his blushing bride brought her parents to see Love at The Mirage, and he went backstage to meet with the cast. At least 14 of them are now unemployed in another tragic Trump firing rampage.

Also at XS was Giada De Laurentiis of the Food Network, celebrating a friend’s bachelorette party.
