More teams need to adopt this hot-girl-in-the-front-office policy.
Los Angeles Lakers talent scout and card-carrying member of the Maxim Hot 100 Bonnie-Jill Laflin hosted at Hawaiian Tropic Zone’s Torrid inside Planet Hollywood Resort Friday night. We imagine she must have a real hard time convincing a bunch of 19-year-olds to come play for L.A. when the Knicks or Celtics make first contact through a scout who looks like Walter Matthau.
Lamar Odom had a preparty for the Lakers season at Jet inside the Mirage Saturday with teammates Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher, Brian Shaw, Jordan Farmar, Chris Mihn, Luke Walton, and Sun Yue turning up. Odom bought a magnum of Pierre Jouet Rose for the crew and Bryant came back with multiple bottles of Ace of Spades. You know, the last time Kobe laid out a ton of cash was when he bought his wife that $4 million ring after he — you know. What did he do to poor Luke Walton, then?
Meanwhile, Chuck Liddell spent Friday night at Tryst inside Wynn Las Vegas.
Putting these two together is oddly poetic, isn’t it?
Rock of Love 2′s Ambre Lake met Vanilla Ice in a fierce battle at Torrid inside Planet Hollywood Resort to see who could be less relevant. Lake was hosting for BikeFest after apparently gaining some sort of rock cred by out-skanking Daisy to win Bret Michaels’ oh-so-temporary affections. Vanilla Ice, meanwhile, had to kill some time before heading to Saturday’s X-Fest, so he decided to bother DJ Timbo in the booth until Timbo — we hope grudgingly — spun “Ice Ice Baby.”

Singer, dancer, comic book creator Dawn Richards of Danity Kane celebrated the big two-five Saturday night at Torrid inside Planet Hollywood Resort. Just the faintest whiff of “girl who’s involved with comics” brought nerds running from all across the valley.
Danity Kane’s Dawn Richard celebrates her 25th birthday at Torrid inside Planet Hollywood Resort tonight a full two weeks before the Danity Kane comic book hits the shelves Sept. 29. No, really. We’re not making that up. We’re sure the nerds are lined up at their shops in breathless anticipation. By the way, target market of 14-year-old girls: Enjoy your first trip to the comic book store. You won’t find it creepy or weird at all.Click for more words and pictures »

Three of the I Love Money contestants descended on Torrid inside Planet Hollywood Resort Friday night. Originally, when they came in they openly declared themselves in an alliance, but as soon as the rumor started that Hoopz was going to come by for a drink, Heat and 12 Pack conspired to betray Megan during the elimination ceremony. You wouldn’t think just a night at the club would need an elimination ceremony, but you’d be wrong.
Torrid kicks off Labor Day Weekend by wallowing in good, old-fashioned, reality TV bottom-of-the-barrel goodness by bringing in eliminated I Love Money castmembers 12 Pack (David Amerman) and Heat (Jason Rosell); and Megan Hauserman, who as far as we know, isn’t done yet. But if she wasn’t getting the axe, would she be out in public with these two also-rans? Someone go get our magnifying glass and deerslayer cap. There’s investigation to be done. Fantasy fulfilled? Even the one about Joan Crawford and the overly large, yet docile, badger?
Playboy model Sara Stokes checked in at Torrid inside Planet Hollywood Resort’s Hawaiian Tropic Zone Friday where she signed copies of her latest cover and took photos with fans. Stokes was also celebrating her birthday. What better way to celebrate than to sign naked pictures of yourself? That’s pretty much how we handled birthdays 17 through 24. We’re not sure why we didn’t draw the same crowd, though.

Local model Sara Stokes celebrates both her birthday and the release of Playboy’s Hot Housewives special, of which she has the cover. So all in all, it’s a banner August for those of us who enjoy both cake and nudity. Which is to say, all of us. The shindig gets going at Planet Hollywood Resort’s Torrid, where Stokes will autograph 150 copies of the cover for fans. You’ll probably have to ask nicely if you want cake, though. Ice T brought it at the Hard Rock Hotel pool Saturday afternoon to do a set with Black Ice, where he spent his time performing and drinking Ty Ku along with wife and fellow Celebrity Family Feud contestant Coco. For the full gallery, check out SpyOnVegas.com.
The couple hosted the Players Toast Awards later in the evening at Torrid inside Planet Hollywood Resort. DMX had been scheduled to show, but kind of, sort of managed to get arrested in Arizona for using a fake name and Social Security number to duck out of a health clinic bill. Oh, DMX, you’re like the wacky neighbor we’ve always wanted to have.

Tomorrow night, Ice T will split his time between a pair of clubs, popping up at Body English inside Hard Rock Hotel for a performance with Black Ice as part of the 944 three-year anniversary tonight, and also at Planet Hollywood Resort’s Torrid, where he and porn star wife Coco host the Players Toast Awards. We’re still waiting for Ice to do another track with Slayer like it was ’93 all over again.
Joining Ice T at Torrid will be DMX, Eve, Joe Jackson, Sir Jinx, T. Fox, Mike Tyson, Flavor Flav, Bishop Don “Magic” Juan and real estate tycoon Jerry Rosenberg. Ice T protege Fedie Demarco will perform.
The general in the Good Hip-Hop vs. Wack Hip-Hop War of Aught Eight is expected to lead a platoon of troops into battle where they hope to capture several operatives of the Reggaeton Commandos.
