Tiffany was at MGM Grand’s Studio 54 last night for the club’s ’80s night, where she belted out hits “I Saw Him Standing There” and “I Think We’re Alone Now” — two songs that were bigger hits for their original artists. The former teen idol was wearing, inexplicably for an ’80s night, a flapper dress. Then again, what do we know, she had her finger on the pulse in the ’80s more than we did. We were mostly concerned with the Iron Sheik and Thundercats.
In her heyday, Tiffany was playing “I Think We’re Alone Now” at malls. Now, 20 years after the height of her popularity, she’s doing the same songs in Vegas nightclubs. Who said flashes-in-the-pan trend downward through their careers?
