By any other name … except Forty Deuce

Things are getting close to the opening of The Rose: A Burlesque Cocktail Room at Mandalay Bay — taking the spot formerly held by Forty Deuce. Preview weekend starts Nov. 27 with Steve Aoki, followed by Brent Bolthouse Nov. 28. DJ Five will hold down the fort on Wednesday nights. We realize it’s a long name, but if it was strictly “The Rose” it would sound like one of the unused hatches on Lost.

In the meantime, they’re holding go-go auditions Saturday at Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theatre Holsum Loft (231 W. Charleston Blvd. Suite 110) from 1 to 3 p.m. All the pertinent contact info is on Craigslist, which finally comes through for something more than questionable, anonymous hookups. Uh. Not that we do that.
