ANOTHER YEAR, ANOTHER AWARD

Soon, the tables will be made out of old awards.

It’s getting old hat for Joel Robuchon, but for the fourth straight year, the MGM Grand restaurant captured the AAA Five Diamond Award. Skylofts at MGM also notched its fourth straight Five Diamond, but they’re practically whippersnappers compared to Le Cirque, which took its seventh and both Julian Serrano’s Picasso and Bellagio, which racked up their ninth straight awards. That’s a lot of awards. That’s more awards than a crappy Little League team gets handed at the end of the year just for managing to not set the field on fire, even. And we’re the proud owners of a lot of Thanks-For-Not-Burning-Down-The-Diamond trophies, we can tell you.

MORE AWARDS FOR ROBUCHON

Robuchon will soon have only one award left to win: The Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

Joel Robuchon at MGM Grand, which recently nabbed its second straight three-star Michelin rating, also bagged its third straight Five Diamond award from AAA. The Five Diamond designation was only given to 103 resorts and 59 restaurants throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Also being honored was the Skylofts at MGM Grand for the third straight year as well, Le Cirque with its sixth straight award, and Picasso and Bellagio itself for the eighth straight year. Snubbed yet again was Uncle Benny’s House of Bearnaise, which failed to capture any diamond rating for the 18th straight year.
