ZOMBIES ATTACK THE PALMS

It’s about time someone has delivered on the post-Apocalyptic horror several movies have been promising Las Vegas for the past few years. We’re looking forward to fighting the zombie horde as they spread outward in an ever-widening circle of terror from the Palms. We’re ready — we stocked up on shotgun shells, machetes and Simon Pegg. Bring it on, Zombiegeddon, we ain’t scared of you. In the words of noted anti-zombie activist Ash: Come get some.
Well, OK. It wasn’t a zombie invasion. This time. (But don’t think we’ve forgot about you, zombies. We practice constant vigilance by watching the “Thriller” video once a day.) The Palms was the site of the premiere of Prey, the Aussie horror flick inspired by the real-life disappearance of a couple in the west Australian desert in the late ’80s.
Star Jesse Johnson (son of bescruffed Don Johnson) was there along with Natalie Walker, Ben Kermode, Kristin Sargent, Jennifer Hansen, writers Robert Lewis Galinsky and Elizabeth Howatt-Jackman, the Thunder from Down Under and Aussie singers Human Nature. World Series of Poker winner Joe Hachem is also in the movie, which means with the inclusion of zombie Steve Irwin at the premiere, nearly every notable Aussie in the world was somehow connected to the film.
