1111TUE: THE ROUNDUP

Paul Oakenfold loves the locals.

Stations opens its newest joint, Aliante, today to capitalize on that lucky 11:11 on 11/11 mojo, but Paul Oakenfold offers you something to do if you don’t feel like driving all the way up north. Perfecto is having a special show tonight for locals with opening sets from The Funkler and DJ Prism at Rain inside the Palms. Click for more words and pictures »

SEMA DRAWING CAR LOVERS

Too Short with one of the Fly Girls circa 1992.

Last night at the Palms, Moon saw rapper Too Short hang with BMX rider Rick Thorne; two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves at a table with six friends; and Braun Racing owner Todd Braun sharing a table with driver Denny Hamlin and more than 20 friends who stayed until 3:30 a.m. before going back to their sky villa. The SEMA convention is currently taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, which explains the collection of gearheads. The auto equipment show isn’t open to the public, so if you needed one more spinner to complete your set, you’re out of luck until Pep Boys stocks up.

Dining at N9NE Steakhouse was angry slugger Gary Sheffield, who ate with a group of 10. Sheffield once admitted to deliberately tanking a plays when he was unhappy in Milwaukee to show his displeasure, which is the kind of selfish passive-aggressive shenanigan we can get behind.

GIRLS NEXT DOOR GET INTO SEASON

Holly is dressed as one of the Baywatch stars. You know, Hasselhoff.

Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt hosted Trick ‘em and Treat ‘em at Moon inside the Palms last night, dressed in their Halloween best. Madison donned Pam Anderson’s Baywatch swimsuit while Marquardt was some kind of … evil clown. With a tutu. Or something. We’ve been assured she was Skull Candy Rainbow Brite, but we’ll be damned if we don’t know an evil clown when we see one.

Also hanging out was Criss Angel, who turned up around the same time Madison did. The girls, along with Sara Underwood and a crew of about 15 were a differnet table from Angel, who was with 10 members of the Believe cast. Both parties, though, arrived around 12:15 a.m. and left at 4 a.m. Angel really should’ve done Madison a solid and complemented her costume by going as Yasmine Bleeth.

1028TUE: THE ROUNDUP

This is exactly why Hef waited for them to leave the Mansion instead of forcing them out.

Moon inside The Palms brings in Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison for J-Roc’s Trick ‘em and Treat ‘em Halloween party. See, you’d already know about this if you had perused our massive Halloween events preview. Holly even spent the day at Amp Salon getting her hair ready. The current, or former, or whatever they technically are now Girls Next Door keep the Halloween festivities rolling at the Palms after Playboy Club started it all off on Sunday. At this rate, shell-shocked bouncers will be wearing Hamburgler and Greatest American Hero costumes well into the Christmas season, and we, for one, couldn’t be more excited at the thought. 1026SUN: THE ROUNDUP

We find absolutely nothing freaky about a grown woman dressing like a sexy Care Bear.

The Playboy Club at the Palms gets the whole Halloween train a-rollin’ with its The Freaks Come Out at Night costume party hosted by the girls of Spearmint Rhino tonight. They really missed a golden opportunity, though, by not getting Whodini to play. Click for more words and pictures »

BUSCH RACES FROM POKER TO MOON

Kurt Busch, ladies. Ladies, Kurt Busch.

Fresh off hanging in there with the hustlers and card sharps at his charity poker tournament, Kurt Busch headed to Moon inside the Palms with a group of eight to hang out until around 2 a.m. The group did the usual vodka and champagne, but also went in for Kamikaze shots.

Also at Moon last night were MVP, Chris Jericho, Matt Hardy, Chavo Gerardo, Carlito and several WWE Divas among the group of 60 WWE wrestlers Raw workers spread over two tables. No steel folding chairs were harmed in the evening’s partying.

HANDLER, LATELY OF THE PALMS

We can’t disapprove of anyone that dedicated to vodka.

Chelsea Handler of the E! network’s Chelsea Lately (as opposed to Living Lohan, which would just be weird) had a show Saturday night at The Pearl inside the Palms, but made a weekend of it at the hotel.

On Friday, she had dinner with boyfriend Ted Harbert and a group of 16 that included George Maloof at N9NE Steakhouse. Harbert is the CEO of Comcast, which owns E! He swears he had nothing to do with Handler getting her show. Good enough for us. No reason to suspect otherwise. By the way, our first job we got at the restaurant our grandmother happened to run? We were just the most qualified busboy of them all. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Handler, whose new book is Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea was drinking vodka on the rocks. From there they went to the Playboy Club for more vodka. Click for more words and pictures »

RONSON SPINS AT RAIN, BRINGS LINDSAY

Are we crazy, or does Sam look like she’s rocking a shoulder holster there?

You might know her as the chick who’s dating Lindsay Lohan, but Samantha Ronson will forever be the DJ who launched DailyFiasco to us. We know that’s the real reason Ronson was back in town — she missed us too much.

Regardless of her motivation, Ronson did a turn at Perfecto Saturday night at the Palms’ Rain. Prior to the show, she and Lohan dined at N9NE Steakhouse, pausing dinner to go say hello to Cary Hart and Tal Cooperman who were dining at a nearby table. Ronson and Lohan stuck to Shirley Temples for the night. Lohan and several friends had a table behind the DJ booth where she stayed until 1 a.m. Ronson, who had plenty of smack laid on her over the weekend, hung out longer after her set, not calling it a night until 4 a.m.

Also at N9NE Saturday night was Young Jeezy. Hart made a quick 40-minute trip to Moon, where Jeezy was celebrating his birthday at four roped-off tables that included Khloe Kardashian and a black and white American flag cake. Minnesota Timberwolves forward Corey Brewer was at the club with his girlfriend and three others until around 3 a.m. The cast of Sunset Tan also turned up. Which was good, as it was a Sunset Tan weekend at the Palms. If the cast of, say, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia turned up, that just would’ve been confusing.

0919FRI: THE ROUNDUP

He wants to rock right now.

Rob Base does Music is the Currency tonight at Rain inside the Palms at 11 p.m. where he’ll tell you a thing or two about joy and pain. (Hint: It’s remarkably like sunshine and rain.) He’ll also expound on his virulently anti-Big Mac stance. Just like Alice Cooper’s “Poison” might be the quintessential ’80s metal video, “It Takes Two” may hold down that spot for late-’80s hip-hop. It looks like the whole video was directed by an In Living Color intern. Click for more words and pictures »
