‘Cuz and underwear party don’t stop.
Today at noon, Ditch Friday at the Palms pool takes aim at the hallowed pages of Guinness by hosting the World’s Largest Underwear Party, hosted by Maverick Illustrated magazine and Playboy’s Alison Waite. Now, we’re not sure what the current record for largest number of underwear-clad people in a public place is, but we know we set a new record in our bedroom last night, HEYO! (Tying the long-standing record of one.)
The event is expected to draw around 2,500 undergarment afficionados and will sport a Sexiest Panty Girl competition. The winner will receive a photo shoot with Maverick Illustrated at a tropical hotspot for a four-page spread. We recommend using only the granniest of granny panties.

Fighting AIDS through the power of partying. (Aaron Garcia | SpyOnVegas.com)
Aid for AIDS of Nevada holds the 22nd Annual Black & White Party at the Palms pool tonight with an eye toward Hollywood’s glamor era. No, not the one with the spandex and headbands. That would be the glam era. A preparty starts at Moon from 6 to 9 p.m. To get your benefit tickets, head here. Click for more words and pictures »

Insert “booty” joke of your choice. Oh, we’d like to insert something in her booty. Wait, no, don’t use that. That’s terrible.
Tomorrow’s Ditch Friday at the Palms pool brings Bridget Marquardt back after her regal tour as the queen of Midsummer Night’s Dream to host the Ship Wreck Pirate Treasure Hunt at noon. It brings all the daring and romance of piracy right to the pool. But not real piracy, because that’s dangerous and wrong. (OK, actually, it’s still really awesome.)
Sunbathers will get clues throughout the day to lead them toward the treasure, and the first 500 will get their clues on the way in, some of which lead to a treasure map. Guests will have to dive for additional clues found in more than 100 message-bearing bottles floating in the pool. It’s kind of like bobbing for apples, but much less delicious.

Every party needs more wenches.
If there’s one thing most casinos need more of, it’s castles. Uh, except you, Excalibur. You’re kind of covered. ANYway … .
The Palms took a cue from Marcellus Wallace to get Medieval — or, Renaissance, in this case. The 16th and 17th century themed masquerade ball at the pool piled in more revelers decked out in masks than the Eyes Wide Shut wrap party.
Not that fidelity to the period was a necessity: There were monks on cell phones, knights dancing to Daft Punk and, inexplicably, a gaggle of pimps. That doesn’t even account for the multiple Elvii or the one guy dressed like the Joker, complete with homemade “Why so serious?” t-shirt. You know, just like in the 17th century. How do you know she’s Jewish? Because she’s having a satyr. Ha! Get it? Satyr? Seder? Anyone? Anyone?
Halloween might only come once a year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find other reasons to get in costume.
No, you probably shouldn’t wear your slutty cop outfit to the DMV. No, no wait, check that. Yes you should. Aaaaanyway.
Saturday offers a chance for partygoers to don their finest Renaissance England clothing (we know it’ll be hard for you to settle on just one outfit from your overflowing closet) and take in the second annual Midsummer Night’s Dream party at the Palms pool. The party, themed this year as A Masquerade in the King’s Court is an extension of Hugh Hefner’s bash at the Playboy Mansion. (Although the tragic rumor is that the Hef era is winding down.) Hef gets Holly Madison, left, to fall for the old “I’ve got a surprise in my pocket for you” routine.
Today at Ditch Fridays at the Palms pool, Holly Madison of Girls Next Door and Hef co-habitation fame hosts the Third Annual Bunny Hunt from noon until 3 p.m. Now that someone’s finally explained to Madison that it isn’t a literal hunt, she promises to stop waving the shotgun around. The Shop Boyz will perform, and they’ll be back at 11 p.m. for Music is the Currency at Rain.

Music is the Currency at The Palms’ Rain takes a break tonight from old school hip-hop to bring in locals Panic at the Disco to host. The band is set to play The Pearl tonight, and is also poolside right now for Ditch Fridays.
Rumors that the poolside appearance will prompt an all-Beach Boys and Surfaris set for tonight’s show are as yet unconfirmed.

All weekend, it was pasties as far as the eye could see. (Photo by Hew Burney | SpyOnVegas.com)
It was hard to see the stage through all the peacock feathers.
The girls, you see, spared no detail, and that included elaborate headwear. Ghostbar at The Palms, though not open to the public Friday night, was the place to be if you’re the kind of guy who likes to be surrounded by droves of girls dressed to the nines and dying to disrobe. Hundreds of girls in evening gowns, corsets, fishnets and long gloves packed into the lounge to hear stories from the legends of burlesque as part of the Burlesque Hall of Fame/Miss Exotic World 2008 weekend.
This was a crowd fascinated by its own history. As one former great after another climbed on stage, the shrieks and cheers could have been for Jagger in ‘72 as much as they were for 60-some-odd-year-old dancers. Click for more words and pictures »

Respected DJ or lead singer of U2: You decide. (Via myspace.com/markfarina)
Grab your bathing suit and wax off that unsightly hair, DJ Mark Farina is on the turntables at noon today for Ditch Friday at the Palms pool with an opening set by Keith Evan and The Funkler, which, frankly, sounds like it should be a sex toy. And not one you’d ever want to be caught dead buying, either.
