DITCH GETS LIGHT, STARTS SHOW

In the pantheon of reggae-influenced crossover stars who are hard to undersand, Sean Paul certainly has to rank among the greats along with … Shaggy, and … Snow?

Anyway. Paul got things going with the first Ditch Friday of the season, with Floyd Mayweather Jr., Access Hollywood personality Maria Menounos and aforementioned nerd-emperor Stan Lee all patrolling cabanas.

Over at N9NE Steakhouse, the New Kids on the Block followed up their performance at The Pearl with dinner before going over to Rain, where they did a set for the club around midnight. At some point, with two shows over the weekend and the club appearance, when Danny Wood was doing “Hangin’ Tough” for the third time in two days he had to be cursing out the audience and wondering where they were from the late ’90s to now, right? There’s no way we wouldn’t be bitter in that situation. We would be like the crazy, bitter Brian Wilson of mid-’90s boy bands. Click for more words and pictures »

NEW KIDS SERENADE LAX

The New Kids on the Block came to LAX inside Luxor for their afterparty following their Saturday night concert at Mandalay Bay only to get up on stage and perform some more, doing “Dirty Dancing,” “Single” and “Put It On My Tab.” They’re the hardest working boy-band-reunited-after-years-of-being-dormant in show business. Sadly, they did not put any sucker MCs in check. For the full sea-of-humanity craziness, check out SpyOnVegas.com.

Man, Bobby Brown is a crack-smoking wife beater, Donnie Wahlberg has a receding hairline and one of the guys from Musical Youth died. Boy bands are more depressing than The Cure.

Earlier in the evening, however, Alice Cooper-loving Dennis Haskins stopped by. We wish he had joined the New Kids on stage to cover “No More Mr. Nice Guy.”
