FOR $775M, THIS COULD BE YOURS

We were so close to sealing the deal, but they wouldn’t throw in rust-proofing.

Former New Frontier owner Phil Ruffin is going to buy Treasure Island from MGM Mirage for $775 million. Ruffin dumped the New Frontier on El-Ad for $1.2 billion, so the guy clearly knows a little something about buying low and selling high.

It’s unclear right now what this will mean for Christian Audigier the Nightclub and Mist. There hasn’t been any immediate word of changes at Audigier, but the transaction isn’t scheduled to be completed until the second quarter of ‘09, according to reports.

Nice cans. (Photo by Melissa Reese | SpyOnVegas.com)

It’s simple. Bring a canned good to Mist inside Treasure Island, get a free drink. And don’t go with that creamed corn crap, either. Get the good stuff. Go get a nice big can of that cranberry sauce that stays perfectly in the can shape when you pop it out. That’s a big old, can-shaped pile of delicious right there. It all gets going at 5 p.m. Click for more words and pictures »

0818MON: THE ROUNDUP

The only game that features customizable spiked boots you can turn pink. Bow to the majesty of rock.

The only thing that can make Rock Band better is whiskey. In fact, if they made a Whiskey Band, we’d be the first ones lining up outside GameStop at midnight to buy it. We think we could win the Keith Moon challenge pretty handily, but the John Bonham level would be tough. Regardless, tonight Mist at Treasure Island holds its Almost Famous Rock Band battle in conjunction with the SpyOnVegas.com Open Bar, which is serving up frontier whiskey Bulleit Bourbon from 6 to 9 p.m. Not quite ready to rock out and pound bourbon? Wuss. Read on for your options. Events at 10 p.m. unless noted. Click for more words and pictures »

Don’t make Mist angry. You wouldn’t like Mist when it’s angry.

Mist at Treasure Island already celebrates Monday nights with video games, so why not add comic book movies to the mix? Maximum Comics teams up with the club, which changes Almost Famous from Guitar Hero to Rock Band this week to hand out passes to a sneak peek showing of The Incredible Hulk as well as other Hulk-related prizes. We’re assuming purple pants are going to be among the giveaways. They’d better be. More of an Aquaman kind of a guy? Read on for your options. Events at 10 p.m. unless noted.
