DAILY SIP: COOL CUCUMBER
This was much more successful than the Cool Sea Cucumber cocktail.
Your mom always wanted you to eat your vegetables. You just wanted to drink your booze. (You were such a precocious 5-year-old.) It’s about time someone stepped up to the plate with something other than a Bloody Mary to ensure that the twain shall meet.
The Cool Cucumber at Louis’s in Town Square starts with a few cucumber slices muddled in the bottom of a Collins glass. Ty Ku citrus liqueur is combined with Cruzan citrus rum and a bit of Midori melon liqueur for both sweetness and to give the drink a nice, green hue. Topped with lemon-lime soda and served on the rocks, the Cool Cucumber looks a little like what the Hulk would drink to cool down on a hot summer day.
Mixologist and Louis’s General Manager Robert Chachere said he was bored with vodka, and wanted to create something summery without relying on the old standby. Click for more words and pictures »
