Rye Rye, which is, coincidentally, how we order liquor (“Rye.” “Want anything with that?” “Rye.”) was at Lavo on Saturday to break out “Boom Boom” (she is, apparently, the Johnny Two-Times of pop music) and “Never Will Be Mine” (which we assume was originally titled “Never Never Will Will Be Be Mine Mine”).

Earlier, over at Marquee, Avicii got things going at Marquee Dayclub, where Brody Jenner and the Redskins’ DeAngelo Hall were hanging out. Tao, meanwhile, saw Lance Bass in for dinner. Boy bands clearly hate pool parties. They’re like cats. They hate it when you get them wet.

Freak out.

Lavo is mixing up its weekend lineup, bringing La Freak (from the Party Rock people) and Stereo Saturdays — doing hip-hop and Top 40 with DJ Reflex, and kicking off with Chiddy Bang this weekend.

While La Freak sounds like more of the same vis a vis inflatable zebras and plastic glasses, watching a club go back to hip-hop makes for an interesting note of counterprogramming for the frequent weekend EDM domination, and pairs with Lavo’s Old School Wednesdays to give it a prominent stake in that scene. Savvy move to capture an increasingly marginalized audience or the first signs of EDM’s meteoric rise starting to flag?

Money paid to Robert De Niro impersonator Robert Nash dressed in the Casino red sport coat last night at Tao’s Totally ’80s party: $5,000.

That’s not even the worst of it. Tao handed out 10 grand to a guy dressed like Spock. Not even “Hey, at least Wrath of Kahn was in ’82 and he’s wearing that costume” Spock. No, full on Nineteen Sixty Fucking Six Spock. Forget the Higgs goddamn boson, we don’t need any more proof that quantum physics is the correct model other than the absolute meaninglessness of time at a Tao ’80s costume contest.

Also, Carlos Mencia was at Lavo. God is dead.
