New series, Bro-Bromance coming soon. (Photos by Denise Truscello)
You know how when African bees were mated to European bees we wound up with hybrid killer bees? (Just run with it, if you happen to be among the roughly 2 percent of readership that isn’t a regular subscriber to Apiology Today.) Well, the hybrid of The Hills and the Kardashians gave us the seemingly indestructible Brody Jenner, who celebrated his 27th birthday at Lavo and Tao Beach this weekend.
Jenner, along with his brother, Brandon, started with dinner Friday night at Lavo. Girlfriend Avril Lavigne was going to join Jenner, but she had to go straight from Los Angeles to Sweden to record an album. You know, that old story again. There was a bachelorette party that had to be escorted away from Jenner’s table for trying to get too close to him, which is going to make one lucky groom somewhere feel awesome.
Jenner relocated to Tao, where he had the club turn up the lights so he could tell everyone how much he loved his brother. So he’s that guy. Also at Tao were Pauly Shore, gold medalist Cullen Jones and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Angel Porrino was with Tal Cooperman at Lavo.
The brothers Jenner did it all over again on Saturday at Tao Beach, where Rachel Bilson was doing a friend’s bachelorette party. But not hers, right Hayden Christensen?

Brody Jenner kicks off two days of celebrating his birthday, first at Lavo tonight and tomorrow afternoon at Tao Beach. You know. In case you were worried about missing Brody Jenner the first time tonight. If you’re a big Brody Jenner fan. Which we assume you are. Click for more words and pictures »

The Hills is gone but its fashionistas live on and on and on. Stephanie Pratt, who was the cover model for the summer issue of Runway magazine, was at Lavo last night for the issue release party, joining Kristin Cavallari and the mag’s director Nole Marin. There will come a day when the long arm of The Hills can’t touch us anymore, but it’s not going to be until 2028.
Tao had Jermaine O’Neil and Static-X frontman Wayne Static. He made it over to Moon at the Palms where he partied with four friends — including one super-hot chick with sheet-white hair. Comedian and actor Michael Rapaport was also there to see Clipse do “Grinding” around 1:30 a.m.
Finally, Junior Seau was spotted at Caesars’ Munchbar with four friends, sucking down Miller Lites for about an hour.

Stephanie Pratt and Redfoo from LMFAO. A match made in heaven. Ish. (Photos by Denise Truscello)
Two years of meatballs and Turkish sinks came and went over the weekend with Lavo celebrating its second anniversary. It started Friday night with Kim Kardashian jumping on the mic to wish co-owner Noah Tepperberg a happy birthday in front of a crowd that included Stacy Keibler, Robert Iler, David Spade, Kevin Farley, and Rob Thomas and wife, Marisol, who partied until after 2 a.m. before he had to leave to get ready for his Saturday concert at Red Rock Casino.
Paris Hilton turned up around 3 a.m. and, just to give things that little flair of socialite drama we all know and love, neither spoke to nor looked at Kardashian even though they were at the same table. Hilton took off right after she took her turn on the mic.
Also coming were was Brandi Glanville, Molly Sims, LMFAO, Jonathan Cheban (who came with Kardashian) and Clifton Collins Jr. Pratt came over with Anthony Mackie after they were at the Lady Gaga show. She brought Mikey Appel to the party and was handsy on the red carpet, but she was lipsey with LMFAO’s Redfoo when push came to makeout. Producer Jimmy Iovine also turned up after Gaga to hear his son DJ Eye spin. Click for more words and pictures »

And as we all know, there ain’t no party like a Matchbox Twenty/Dancing with the Stars party ‘cuz a Matchbox Twenty/Dancing with the Stars party don’t stop. Click for more words and pictures »

Kobe still got two free throws for this.
Basketball players should not be named Sasha. They should be named Wilt. Or possibly Shaquille, and that’s it. We’re sure Shaquille Stockton agrees with us. Anyway, the Lakers’ Sasha Vujacic hosts at Lavo inside Palazzo tonight for the Peak Sports launch. It’s the chance to taunt your Celtic-fan friends that you’ve been waiting for. Tinsley Mortimer, who sounds like she should be a third-string prep school girl in a Fitzgerald novel is basically the ’10s version of a third-string prep school girl in a Fitzgerald novel — she’s the star of High Society, a reality show on The CW. Which is almost like not having a reality show at all. Anyway, she was at Tao on Friday to celebrate her 34th birthday along with sister Dabney Mercer. Of course she has a sister named “Dabney.” It was apparently Reality TV Day at the Venetian and Palazzo, because Alex Ferrer of Judge Alex and Kelly Bensimon of The Real Housewives of New York were at Tao Beach during the day. It was Bensimon’s third straight day. Steve Ward from VH1′s Tough Love was at Lavo for a bachelor party. Man, he must be fun at weddings.
Mortimer was at Tao beach on Saturday was back with Mercer, then took over Lavo for the night. Also there was Kid Sister, who performed at Tao Beach on Sunday where Mortimer was hanging out. Hunter Parrish from Weeds was at Lavo, too, mixing it up with a bacherlorette party. Which means being annoyed by a bachelorette party.
Back at Tao, Frank Vincent and Steve Schirripa from The Sopranos had dinner with members of the Las Vegas Mob Experience team. If Frank Vincent ever asks to speak to his associate in Italian during dinner, you pretty much have to run for your life, right?

“I HATE ANIMALS!!!!!!!!.”
Kelly Bensimon, the former fashion model, reality star author and abusive girlfriend, will host Label Junkie Wednesday tonight at LAVO in the Palazzo in celebration of her new jewelry line, “Kelly.”
Best known for her time on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New York City,” Bensimon has used the show’s popularity to land a pictorial in Playboy Magazine, and now her jewelry line which mixes metals, leather, feathers and crystals because, hey, who deosn’t want to look like the gay Indian from The Village People?

Actor Ryan Phillipe, hot off the success of recent blockbuster films like MacGruber and Stop-Loss and other things we didn’t want to look up on IMDB, stormed into Las Vegas for a whirlwind weekend birthday celebration for his girlfriend, Alexis Knapp.
Best known for having a last name that’s deceptively hard to pronounce, Phillipe was the star of teen-pandoring hits in the late ’90s like I Know What You Did Last Summer and Cruel Intentions before making it big as a stand-in for Justin Timberlake.
After hitting various clubs and pools, the couple finished the weekend at LAVO at the Palazzo on Sunday night. The duo and friends ate Kobe meatballs and the sea bass special along with a tray of sweets from the pastry kitchen adorned with candles for the birthday girl. After dinner they took over a table on the dance floor and toasted with champagne before Phillipe picked a fight with a mouthy Sarah Silverman.
