DJ AM, apparently, doesn’t believe in sick days. Less than a month after the plane crash that killed four and left he and Travis Barker severely burned, DJ AM will join Jay-Z tomorrow in Los Angeles and is expected to stay with Hov through the tour. Jay-Z’s publicist has yet to confirm which of them will be Bonnie and which will be Clyde.

In the time it took you to load this picture, Jay-Z just made another $6.2 million. (Via www.myspace.com/jayz)
It was a busy weekend for Jay-Z in Las Vegas. On Friday, Jay hosted a ‘40s-themed black tie affair at his 40/40 Club. While the event remained extremely low key, Hov slipped through the doors at roughly 2:30 a.m. and headed straight for the skybox to down a few bottles with his people. Shortly after, Floyd “Money” Mayweather and his healthy entourage joined Jay at 40/40 until the wee hours of the morning.
On Saturday, Jay-Z popped up at the Joe Calzaghe/Bernard Hopkins match at the Thomas & Mack Center. Much to people’s surprise, he sat ringside as the fight began around 7:15 p.m. with his “Heart of the City” concert with Mary J. Blige scheduled to start down the street at the MGM at 8 p.m. Let that be a lesson, kids. You don’t have to be on time when you’re Jay-Z.
Other celebrity sightings included Ray-J & Whitney Houston, Simon Cowell (who got booed), Chris Tucker, Gary Payton, Tom Jones, Jeremy Piven, Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Click for more words and pictures »

Small pimpin’? Clearly not. Medium pimpin’? Not even close.
Warming up to Saturday’s concert with Mary J. Blige at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Jay-Z is hosting a 1940s-themed party at his 40/40 Club inside Palazzo. The club is so committed to the authenticity of the black-tie affair, it commissioned, for one night only, the corpse of Count Basie to take over as ceremonial bandleader. Or at least it would have, if we were in charge of the 40/40 Club. Actually, this is probably why we aren’t in charge of the 40/40 Club.
Jay-Z’s official afterparty for the show will be Saturday night at the club, while Blige’s official afterparty will be at Tao inside The Venetian, making for a quick and easy inter-party commute.

Kobe beef at Tao Asian Bistro inside the Venetian was enjoyed by hip-hop stars Jay-Z and Eve Tuesday night. Oh, they ate sushi, chicken satay and other specialties, but as we have learned by now, it’s all about the Kobe.
Eve’s in town to promote her Fetish clothing line at the MAGIC Marketplace, and surely Jay-Z is in town to support his industry pals in their endeavors. Or just to eat Kobe beef at Tao. Hey, doesn’t he have his own place here now?

After all the threats and rumors that Jay-Z’s 24,000-square-foot sports bar would shut down before it even got the chance to open its doors, 40/40 welcomed a who’s who guest list to its grandiose grand opening event.
In your face, Perez Hilton!
When asked who would attend the bash prior to the doors opening, Jay-Z responded, “I don’t know! There’s so many people that have RSVPed. I know LeBron [James] and A-Rod (Alex Rodriguez) will be there. Those are my two guys. After that, you never know who you might see there.”
It’s really not about who was there, though. A better question would be who wasn’t there. With everyone from Jay-Z, Beyonce, Ne-Yo, Kanye West, Vanessa Simmons (Rev Run’s daughter), Just Blaze, Beanie Sigel, LeBron James and Gary Payton all the way down to the likes of Al Sharpton (WTF?), Joe Jackson (double WTF?) and … Alan Thicke (triple WTF? with a side of “oh no he didn’t”), 40/40’s opening was a night nobody would soon forget. What a weekend for Tao’s dining room … Friday night it was Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson. Saturday night, a triumvirate of hip-hop and R&B royalty—Jay-Z, Kanye West and Mary J. Blige—descended on the popular Venetian eatery and nightspot with 40 of their closest friends after Jay-Z’s concert over at the Pearl to enjoy such Tao favorites as chicken pad thai, Chilean sea bass, and of course, Kobe beef.
Oh, Mandy Moore was there too, though a bit earlier and, you know, with a much smaller posse.
Jay-Z and his crew didn’t make it up to the club after dinner, but plenty of other celebs did, including Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson and actor-musician-porn director Evan Seinfeld (husband of adult film star Tera Patrick).
SpyOnVegas super-photog Hew Burney was on the scene, of course, and we brought you some more pictures … Click for more words and pictures »

Some, ahem, “news” outlets are prematurely reporting that the 40/40 Club inside the Palazzo will not be opening in time for its scheduled Dec. 30 grand opening due to inspection failures.
Publicists for Jay-Z’s new Las Vegas sports lounge reveal that though there is some final permitting being done even as of this posting, all parties are still planning for an opening bash on Dec. 30. Jigga himself is meeting with reporters — one of ours included — today at the Palazzo’s sister resort, the Venetian, so stay tuned for more info right here on DailyFiasco.com.

This should come as no surprise, given that his 40/40 Club is opening at the Palazzo about the same time: Jay-Z will perform inside the Pearl at the Palms on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 8 p.m.
Do we really need to tell you more about the Roc-A-Fella Records CEO and Grammy-award winning jigga?
Didn’t think so. Tickets for the Pearl show are $128.00, $178.00 and $228.00 and go on sale Saturday, Dec. 15. The lesson: You’ll have to skip your car payment this month if you want to bounce to Jay-Z to kick off the New Year’s weekend.
