A second arrest has been made in the Javon Walker case, according to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department. Deshawn Thomas, 40, was arrested and will face kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery with substantial bodily harm charges. Almost two weeks ago, police made their first arrest in the case, of 30-year-old Arfat Fadel.
A surveillance photo of an unidentified suspect released at the time of Fadel’s arrest led to numerous tips to the police, and ultimately to Thomas’ identification.

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the June 16 beating and robbery of Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker.
30-year-old Arfat Fadel will be charged with kidnapping, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, battery with substantial bodily harm and battery with intent to commit robbery. Police are looking for a second suspect. Anyone with information about the suspect, shown above in a surveillance camera, can contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
In a press conference today, Lt. Clint Nichols said Fadel has a series of criminal charges in his past and that he and his associate were seen going from location to location with Walker during the course of the night. None of the estimated $100,000 worth of jewelry stolen from Walker has been recovered.
Nichols said the story involving Walker being taken from his Bellagio hotel room is false, but that he did voluntarily get in a vehicle with the two suspects. The video of the press conference follows.
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker has been released from Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center following an early Monday morning robbery.
According to TheDirty.com, a statement attributed to Walker denies that someone from Floyd Mayweather’s camp may have been involved in the incident.
When asked specifically about any Mayweather connection yesterday, a Las Vegas Metro Police Department spokesman would only confirm that the investigation was ongoing and any speculation about suspects was just rumor.
UPDATE: According to the Associated Press, Walker will fly to Oakland today, and is expected to be ready for training camp.
Oakland Raiders wideout and frequent club-goer Javon Walker was found early Monday morning, beaten and the victim of a robbery. Walker had been at Hard Rock Hotel’s Body English Sunday night.
Walker doused the crowd with champagne en route to a $15,000 bar tab while partying with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The full gallery is available here.
The 29-year-old remained at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center today. According to a report in the San Francisco Chronicle, police believe Walker was targeted deliberately.
We don’t believe this is a random act,” Las Vegas police Lt. Clint Nichols told the Chronicle. “They knew who he was and (Walker) presented a target.
“We did get a surveillance (video) of a vehicle and suspects that may have been involved. We know there were suspects, possibly two (but) we haven’t identified anyone yet.”
Officer Martin Wright, with the department’s Public Information Office, would only confirm that the investigation is ongoing.
“Mr. Walker was obviously the victim of a crime,” Wright said. “He’s still in the hospital. We’re still investigating that.”
Fresh off of Saturday night’s festivities at The Bank inside Bellagio, Oakland Raiders wideout Javon Walker spent yesterday lounging poolside at Bare Pool Lounge at The Mirage.
While Walker was content to sip virgin daiquiris, he did send over raspberry mojitos to a table of ladies who spent the whole time debating the cover 2 versus a more traditional 4-3 defense.
Following the incident, Walker demanded to be traded to the Bellagio’s pool unless his demands to renegotiate for fluffier towels were met.
