CLUBS HAND OFF TO RUNNING BACKS

dfjamaalWeirdly, this is what every table in Jamaal Charles’ house looks like. (Photo by Danny Mahoney/XS)

We know how you get about your fantasy football — and how early you start thinking about your team. Too bad you blew it already, missing out on not one, but two, running backs. No one’s going to screw you in the draft if your pick’s sitting right next to you.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles was at XS in Encore last night, with his girlfriend.

Redskins running back Larry Johnson was at Drai’s After Hours last night, with friends.

(Todd Haley was not in town, but everyone stayed off Twitter just in case.)

So, what we’re saying is, it was only a few people standing between you and the first moves of the fantasy season. Don’t worry though — your sister’s boyfriend who just picks based on jersey number and colors is going to win the league again anyway.

BURRESS KEEPS IT HOLSTERED

New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was out for two nights this weekend and managed to do so without shooting himself nor anyone else. So, uh, bravo, Plax. The wideout was at XS inside Encore Friday night before hitting afterhours at Drai’s inside Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall with Oakland tight end Darrell Hall.

Also out on Friday night was comic Harland Williams at the Playboy Club with a group of four ahead of Saturday’s Playboy comedy tour gig. After the show on Saturday he bounced from Rain to Moon. Knowing Willaims was on the loose, it was a good night for everyone to leave their diabetic horses at home.

Burress and Hall returned to Drai’s that night, while sister clubs XS had running back Maurice Jones-Drew and Tryst had MMA fighter Jay Hieron.

KID ROCK COWBOYS UP AT PEARL

That could be yours, ladies. (Photo by Erik Kabik | Retna)

Kid Rock was back for a second show Saturday night, letting a Pearl audience know in no uncertain terms that he was from Detroit. In case you didn’t know. He shoehorns that into every song like Cypress Hill raps about weed.

Still, Vegas must agree with the fauxbilly, as he was in town for a New Year’s Eve concert, and extended his stay through Sunday when he was spotted at Drai’s inside Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, where Too Short was hanging out.

Though David Williams and former Broncos cornerback Ray Crockett didn’t go see Kid Rock, they were at Pure inside Caesars Palace on Saturday in separate parties. Lavo at Palazzo had Gossip Girl’s Michelle Trachtenberg, celebrating her sister Irene’s birthday with their mother.

TRYST GETS DIAMOND TREATMENT

Grady Sizemore with Miss June 2007 Brittany Binger. Six Cleveland Indians blogs just exploded. (Photos by Alex Loc Thieu)

So baseball’s winter meetings are in full swing today, and there was a big fight this weekend. So that means there were roughly more athletes in town this weekend than a Honolulu strip club during the Pro Bowl.

The man of the hour, who’s more or less holding baseball’s pitching free agent market hostage while he deliberates, CC Sabathia was at Tryst inside Wynn Las Vegas Friday and Saturday, making it three straight nights there while he tries to decide whether to accept a gigantic pile of money, or hold out instead for a mountain of cash.

Sabathia was joined by Torii Hunter of the Angels, Grady Sizemore and Josh Barfield of the Cleveland Indians, Derrek Lee of the Cubs, the Brewers’ Bill Hall, Milton Bradley and Gary Sheffield of Detroit on Friday. The club also saw Playboy’s Brittany Binger, Laguna Beach star Casey Reinhardt and Brett Ratner, director of the Encore commercial among other, lesser works like Rush Hour 3. Too Short got on the mic to do “Blow the Whistle.” Click for more words and pictures »

TRYST NABS ONE OF THE COREYS

Huh. Corey Feldman shops at ThinkGeek. Who knew? (Photo by Alex Loc Thieu)

Corey Feldman spent Friday night at Tryst inside Wynn Las Vegas with his impossibly hot wife, Susie Sprague Feldman, and Daisy de la Hoya of Rock of Love 2 and the most eagerly anticipated train wreck of 2009, Daisy of Love

Sister club Drai’s at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall got regular customer and former Miss Nevada Katie Rees while Lavo at Palazzo saw country-singin’, star-dancin’ Julianne Hough with her family for dinner to celebrate Thanksgiving weekend and sister Marabeth’s birthday.

CANNON, USHER TEAM UP AT PURE

Nick Cannon knows better than to let Mariah near Usher’s silky smooth voice. (Additional photos by Erik Kabik | Retna)

Nick Cannon was at Pure inside Caesars Palace Friday night to spin a DJ set with Usher in the crowd drinking Opus One Meritage. That was before Usher unleashed the quiet storm and did “Lovers and Friends,” strictly for the ladies. Or perhaps the fly honeys. It could’ve even been for all those sexy shorties. There’s really no way to know. Usher did his Saturday night show at The Pearl inside the Palms, and bounced over to Drai’s inside Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon for some very sexy late-night chicken fingers and fries.

Brad Garrett was there for the Usher at Pure, because when you think R&B, you think Everybody Loves Raymond. David Alan Grier was there, too, downing Veuve Clicquot and Jagermeister. He split time Friday night between Pure and Blush at Wynn Las Vegas. Also at Pure on Friday was Mario Barth of Starlight Tattoo.

Mark Curry, straight out of The Comedy Festival, hit up The Bank at Bellagio on Friday night, as was former Colts defensive end Shawn King. Morris Day, meanwhile was at Mist inside Treasure Island. That’s why you didn’t see Prince show up there. He knew he’d have to watch his back.

Diddy proteges Day 26 were at Jet inside The Mirage on Friday, where they did “Come with Me,” “Exclusive,” “Got Me Going,” and closed with “Since You Been Gone.”

B-REAL A ROCK SUPERSTAR AT JET

He could just kill a man.

Cypress Hill’s B-Real hit up Jet at The Mirage Friday night, doing a few classic tracks and introducing some new tunes. We’re going to go ahead and assume Sen Dog was invited too, but was too blazed to get off the couch.

Meanwhile, over at Drai’s inside Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, *NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick continued his 37th birthday celebration before hanging out with Justin Timberlake at Prive. Kirkpatrick you might better remember as Not JT, Not Lance Bass, Not the Guy Who Did The Singing Bee and Not JC — You Know, the Other One.

LAX at Luxor had injured Baltimore Ravens quarterback Kyle Boller. In an unrelated story, Miami beat Baltimore, 27-13, largely on the strength of not having Kyle Boller on the field. Click for more words and pictures »

EX-BOY BANDER HITS TRYST

Clearly, being in a boy band pays a lifetime of dividends. (Photos by Alex Loc Thieu)

Former *NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick celebrated his 37th birthday with friends at both of Victor Drai’s clubs, Tryst inside Wynn Las Vegas and Drai’s at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon. Kirkpatrick lost out on CMT’s Gone Country to Sebastian Bach, which has to be a little like getting beat in a foot race by Dennis Franz.

HOOPS PLAYERS CONTINUE INVASION

Lisa Mackay: Our last line of defense against hardwood hegemony. (Photo by Alex Loc Thieu)

Clearly, David Stern is planning on having the NBA take over all of Las Vegas, much in the same way the Harlem Globetrotters have their own planet and advanced society. How else to explain why Stern has sent his powerful and terrible minions to establish some sort of pick-and-rolling base camp among our clubs?

Once again, Chauncey Billups of the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta’s Mike Bibby and Corey Maggette of the Warriors were out and about, popping up this time at Tryst inside Wynn Las Vegas last night. Also there, perhaps to negotiate with these three-draining super-spies were Playboy cover model Lisa Mackay and UFC fighters Kenny Florian and Josh Koscheck.

Mackay and Koscheck turned up later at Drai’s inside Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, where Miss Nevada, Veronica Grabowski, was there with a group of friends. Thursday was the first night DJ Big Dee set up shop in the hip-hop room, which he will share the residency with DJ Franzen.
