What started with one man’s vision more than three years ago has become a downtown Las Vegas institution. On Friday, Feb. 15, help celebrate the one-year anniversary of that realization, Downtown Cocktail Room (111 Las Vegas Blvd. S.), with a special party at 10 p.m.

The dark, intimate lounge created by Michael Cornthwaite will feature the sounds of San Francisco’s Julius Papp and resident DJ Carlos Sanchez, plus live percussion by Cayce Woody and horns by Rico DeLargo. Get there early, because this is sure to be a packed event.

Sorry, folks, but it looks like only Wes Bentley will be appearing at the Galaxy Neonopolis Theatres screening of the film Weirdsville and its subsequent after-party at the Downtown Cocktail Room Friday night. We previously announced that co-star Taryn Manning would also be answering audience questions and getting her drink on at the sexy cocktail lounge, but apparently we were lied to.

OK, so we weren’t lied to, Manning just can’t make it. We do tend to have a flair for the melodramatic sometimes, don’t we? Either way, no ogling Manning, my friends, only Bentley.

Here’s a triple-whammy of an evening: art house film screening, Q&A with actors and intimate after-party. If you’re a fan of any of the above, you’ll probably want to spend this Friday night with Taryn Manning and Wes Bentley in downtown Las Vegas for a special screening of their film Weirdsville.

The screening is at 7:30 p.m. at the Galaxy Neonopolis Theatres. Following that, Bentley and Manning will answer audience questions about the film, but more importantly, everyone will trek across Las Vegas Boulevard to Michael Cornthwaite’s Downtown Cocktail Room where complimentary Peroni and ample opportunities to ogle Manning will be available.

Admission to the after-party is free for ticket holders. The rest of you will have to put on your best sad puppy eyes to get inside.
