Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte did his birthday at Blush inside Wynn Las Vegas last night with Michael Phelps and Phil Hellmuth last night until around 3 a.m. They needed Hellmuth because after Michael Phelps, the world is out of famous swimmers and poker is the next sport down in popularity. If no one who won a World Series of Poker bracelet was available, Phelps and Lochte were going to have to hang out with a guy who trains dogs for outdoors games.
Still, they were all more prominent than what was going on at Pure where Vanilla Ice came in to Pure to do “Play That Funky Music,” “Turn it Up,” “Ice Ice Baby” and we swear we’re not making this up, “Ninja Rap,” which contains the grossest misuse of the phrase “New Jack” committed to song.
But he’s still more likable than Sen. Harry Reid, who was at a private event at the Miracle Mile’s new PBR Rock Bar. Reid, however, still places higher than 2 In a Room. Adjust your lists accordingly.

You only get one chance every five years to celebrate an anniversary like this. (Photo by Tony Tran | SpyOnVegas.com)
Congrats to 944, our sister pub that celebrates its 5-year anniversary this weekend. Why, way back in 2005 it was a more innocent time. It was a time when Nickelback and Kanye West were tearing up the charts; a time when updated remakes of classic films like King Kong and War of the Worlds were all the rage; and a time when gas was pushing toward $3 a gallon.
To celebrate, 944 is hosting a weekend’s worth of activities at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore. Starting tonight, doors open at 9 p.m. at Blush for DJ Jace One. Tomorrow, Encore Beach Club gets going at 10 a.m., then moves to Surrender for the night shift at 10:30 p.m. with a surprise performace at 1 a.m.
Winding down on Sunday, DJs Ned Shepard and Mike Da Roza spin at Encore Beach Club, which kicks off at 10 a.m. To score a wristband for entry into the venues, fire out your RSVP at SpyOn.

Angel Porrino from Holly’s World landed Next Big Thing honors at Blush inside Wynn Las Vegas while she partied with fellow caster Laura Croft. They kept it going until around 2:30 a.m. As “Things to Receive a Plaque For” go, it’s much more exciting than, say, one of Mayor Goodman’s proclamations. At least they’re only handing these out once a year to a bunch of people. It still means something.

Blush broke out the body pant last night for the 5th Annual Battle of the Brushes competition, where make-up artists from six local salons went head to head to see who could come up with the funkiest paint job this side of a 1975 Chevy van. The theme for this year was On the Loose in Vegas, and Maile Bello of Aria Health and Beauty took it down for her peacock job. More makeup wizardry is at SpyOn.
It was also Rams running back Steven Jackson’s birthday, and he turned up with a crew of 18 to drink tequila until 3 a.m. Also checking in was Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, who sprang for a magnum of Grey Goose and a bottle of Dom.

Music producer or Turtle from Entourage? You decide!
Trance producer George Acosta takes over Blush at Wynn Las Vegas tonight, to do the whole Miami thing. By which we mean rip the heart out of Cleveland on national television, then pretend to be shocked by a nation’s mounting outrage. Wait, that’s not what we mean at all. But that could totally be Miami’s new thing. Click for more words and pictures »

Blush at Wynn Las Vegas is looking for the top promoter tonight. The promoter who brings in the largest entourage walks away with $2,500, so this would be the night to start harassing everyone on Facebook. All of Facebook. You never know who might be able to make it from Phoenix in time. Click for more words and pictures »

We’d let them take a penalty kick anytime they wanted. (Wait, is that how soccer works? That’s not how soccer works, is it? Look at us! We’re doing soccer!)

La La Vasquez spent a day taking a break from getting ready to marry Carmelo Anthony Saturday night when she hit up Surrender at Encore with a group of girlfriends until around 2 a.m. Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher was over at the owner’s table, conveniently so Vasquez never had to spend any time not in the company of professional athletes.
The Secret Life of the American Teenager’s Megan Park and boyfriend Tyler Hilton hit up the 9:30 p.m. performance of Ka at the MGM Grand, while Luke Perry continued his Cirque tour with a stop at O. Also there was Arsenal winger Theo Walcott with his brother and two friends, talking World Cup with the cast backstage. How’s that 1-1 tie taste, professional soccer player with long and rich tradition of being good at soccer? U-S-A! U-S-A!
Finally, La Reve celebrated its fifth anniversary at Blush inside Wynn Las Vegas, burning through 10 bottles during the party. Man. Now we want to join the cast of a Vegas show. We had no idea they were fueled by booze.

Jesus. It’s like a bottle of L.A. Looks stuffed with Reaganomics and the Tron font exploded all over the place.
The trend of things that are aggressively retro-’80s continues tonight with electro outfit Hyper Crush taking the lead at Blush inside Wynn Las Vegas. We get it. You’re trying to be all cute and throwbacky, but seriously, there’s never any excuse for that amount of day-glo. Click for more words and pictures »
