OH GOD, RUN! BIZ MARKIE CAN SEE YOU! (Photos by Al Powers)
Beatboxing legend, off-key crooner and powdered wig enthusiast Biz Markie hosted at Lavo last night, to drop some science on the “Just a Friend”-starved masses. He started with dinner before hitting the stage, then moved over the the DJ booth where he did some beatboxing and singing while DJ Five spun.
Seriously, we just kind of want to pay Biz Markie to follow us around all day. We could probably go on some fun adventures together. Maybe stop a crime or two, through the power of beatboxing. We haven’t really thought the whole thing out yet.
This is the official Biz Markie Beat Boxing Doll. Yes, that IS the coolest toy ever made.
You know what nightclubs don’t have enough of? Biz Markie. We suppose, though, it’s not possible to EVER have enough Biz Markie, unless maybe Biz Markie has an estranged wife or something. We’d look it up, but the man is a bona fide enigma who defies petty social conventions.
The Diabolical himself will be at Studio 54 inside MGM Grand tonight for Influence 2080s with Mr. Freeze of the Rock Steady Crew and DJ Scene as part of the club’s weekly ’80s-themed party. Ladies who wear leg warmers will drink for free until midnight, but then, they’d also have to be wearing leg warmers. It’s a bit of a catch-22.

It’s true, the Biz never sleeps. To prove it, the most famous off-key warbling hip-hop guy to ever appear in a video in which he wore a Mozart wig, Biz Markie, hosts Music is the Currency tonight at Rain inside The Palms.
Doors are at 11 p.m. and the Biz goes on at 12:30 a.m. That’s a long time to wait to get your Biz fix, but if you’re anything like us, you’re already watching this pretty much nonstop anyway:
