Lilith Fair, back on the road for the first time since 1999, made it Lilith by the Beach, as organizer Sarah McLachlan had it, Friday night at Mandalay Bay. That’s dangerous. You could get sand in your Bikini Kill. (Oh, hell yes, rimshot.)

Among those playing were The Bangles, Miranda Lambert, Jasmine Chadwick, Elizaveta, Susan Justice, A Fine Frenzy and McLachlan. For an encore, Chadwick, Fine Frenzy, Lambert and McLachlan all got on stage to do Patti Smith’s “Because the Night,” but opted against any neck-breaking stage diving. So much for authenticity.
