ANOTHER ONE GONE

Ritz
Economy 758, Las Vegas 0.

The ghost town that Lake Las Vegas is becoming will be a little bit ghostier come May 2 when the Ritz-Carlton closes down, taking about 400 jobs with it. Guess we should’ve gone to more wine walks last year to do our part.

  • Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra are getting spots on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars outside the Flamingo Feb. 22. Timely. Sure you don’t want to mull this decision over a few more years, fellas?
  • MGM Mirage is selling off half its stake in the Borgata, the only place in Atlantic City fit for human habitation. At least until they build a Jersey Shore-themed casino. Boyd, which owns the other half, gets first right of refusal.
  • FAO Schwartz at the Forum Shops is closed. Now where are you going to go to re-enact all the good parts from Big?
  • In Michael Jackson news, Papa Joe says Dr. Conrad Murray got off light. Oh, and MJ would whiz in bottles. Have fun never enjoying “Billie Jean” again.
  • And just for the hell of it, New Orleans is threatening stiff penalties for any ladies flashing the goods during the Super Bowl parade. God, you get good at one thing, New Orleans, and you let it go to your head? Don’t forget what got you there. Voodoo and nudity.
