Joel Madden took his scheduled appearance in the DJ booth for Moon Tuesday last night at the Palms and turned it around to help the relief effort in Haiti, which, all things considered, probably makes up for “Little Things.”

Moon donated half the door to UNICEF’s Tap Project, for which Madden is the goodwill ambassador.

“Anyone that works at a nightclub in Vegas knows how much half the door is. It’s a lot of money. Every dollar right now counts. What UNICEF is doing in Haiti right now, they’re leading the water crisis right now. There’s a huge water crisis in Haiti. There’s no access to clean water. UNICEF has been in Haiti for almost 50 years already on the ground working,” Madden said. “Clean water is going to be the key to stopping a second-wave disaster.”

Over at Blush inside Wynn Las Vegas, Jay Sean did a 20-minute set that was being filmed for MySpace. It’ll go on the site next week, where it will be seen by the band street teams, camgirls, people’s moms who made a MySpace page after hearing about it from their kids in 2003, and defunct bars that make up 87 percent of the MySpace user base.
