Actor Ne-Yo, hailed by critics for his star-studded turn as Mixx in “Save the Last Dance 2″ (though we’re told he also sings), brought smiles to the faces of the children at the North Las Vegas Boys & Girls Club when he dropped by as part of the third annual Giving Tour on Saturday.

The tour is a project of the year-round resource program It’s Cool Having Tools, and gave more
than 400 youth selected by local agencies a free lunch, as well as a toy or bicycle (for younger kids) or a new MP3 player (for older kids). In addition, Ne-Yo hosted a 3-on-3 basketball and group dance competitions.

Our attempts to be registered as at-risk youths once again proved unfruitful.
