It seems like it’s been 784 American Idol seasons since Kelly Clarkson won in Season 1. Yet here she is, still plugging away at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel wearing a sequined Stones shirt during her concert. This has to be exactly what Mick and Keef had in mind when they wrote “Ventilator Blues.” If we were Ruben Studdard or Fantasia we’d start crashing shows from Clarkson and Taylor Hicks and Carrie Underwood and come up on stage in the middle of the set for a “special surprise appearance.” What are they going to do? Kick you off? Perfect chance to revive your careers, guys. Run with it.
