LONG LIVE THE (FAUX) KING

So Elvis-like they’ll have to shoo the Memphis Mafia off the steps of Planet Hollywood.
It’s good to be the King. Sometimes, it’s even good to be the guy wearing the King’s leather jumpsuit.
Trent Carlini is set to open a new Elvis show at the Steve Wyrick Theater March 9, called Elvolution. Just keep it straight: Revolution, Beatles; Elvolution, Elvis. Don’t blame us if you’re sitting at The Mirage wondering why no one is doing “Burning Love.”
Carlini has done Vegas Elvis shows before, as part of Legends in Concert and headlining his Trent Carlini – The Dream King at the Boardwalk, The Riviera and the Sahara as well as doing performances at the Hilton. He also scored a win on ABC’s The Next Best Thing.
He’s set to do more than 20 Elvis tunes in eight stage acts in front of stage sets that will include life-sized Army Jeeps and a Lear Jet. That’s all well and good, but does he have the King’s acting chops, too?
