It’s beginning to feel a lot like Vegas at the 2009 Club World Awards. Of the 86 nominees that aren’t in the product categories, 26 — about 30 percent — are from Las Vegas clubs or events. Take that, Mashantucket, Conn., and your three nominations. The winners will be announced next month in Miami.

Vegas landed nominees in every category except Best Resident VJ (Roonie G is nominated for L.A.’s Saddle Ranch) including: Best Superclub (Rain, Pure), Best Club (LAX), Best Lounge (Playboy Club, Tabu), Best New (Lavo, Prive), Best Sound System (FBP Group for Body English), Best Lighting System (Matthew Paupst of FBP Group for Lavo), Best Video System (FBP Group for Lavo, SJ Lighting, Inc. with Sound Investment for Rok Vegas, Steve Rosstad of US Communications for Hawaiian Tropic Zone), Best Interior Design (Seed Design for Christian Audigier, AvroKO for Lavo), Best One-Off (DJ Am and Travis Barker at LAX, Labor Day with Kaskade and Deadmau5 at Wet Republic, Midsummer’s Night Dream at Palms Pool, Steve Lockwood, Vegas Blondeshell Awards, Jet), Best Party (Summer Surprise Series at Pure, Godskitchen at Body English, Perfecto at Rain), Best Resident DJ (DJ Vice, Lavo), Best Resident LJ (Jeff Novak, LAX), Best DJ Set (Erick Morillo, Tao Las Vegas Memorial Day Weekend) and finally, Best Bottle Service (Christian Audigier, LAX, Tabú, The Bank). Full list is here.

Last year’s local winners included Tao for Best Bottle Service, John Lyons Systems for Jet in Best Video System and Roonie G for Best Resident VJ.
