Billy Idol sez: One hundred punks roll.

Weird. The Big Lebowski had us convinced bowling was for hippies, not punks. We always thought punks were more into badminton. Clearly, we’re in the wrong. Sam’s Town is the home of Punk Rock Bowling weekend starting tomorrow with an 8 p.m. punk rock poker tournament. Actual bowling starts Saturday at noon and finishing with the finals on Sunday from 1 to 5:30 p.m.

Along the way there’s a series of concert and parties. Friday is the kickoff party at Premiere Nightclub (3015 Fremont St.) with The Casualties, The Dwarves, American Steel, Off With Their Heads and The Ignorant. Saturday sees veterans Pennywise and the Circle Jerks at House of Blues with The Darlings, and the awards party is back at Premiere on Sunday at 9 p.m. with Manic Hispanic,CH3, The Bodies and Tiltwheel. Pennywise is back at the House of Blues with Pulley and The Vandals that night as well.

Several other local venues will be having affiliated parties, with Beauty Bar bringing in Black Fag, G.G.Elvis, Gonzo and LLSS Friday night, The Bunkhouse hosting JFA, Hang ‘Em High, Guilty by Association and Pressure Point on Saturday and the Double Down doing Rawkmom’s Guttermouth Bash with Code 415, Get Dead, Dynamite 8, Murderland, Neutralboy and No Red Flags also on Saturday.

How anyone is going to roll with all those safety pins in the ball is beyond us, though.
