Area 107.9 FM is holding its Big Damn Holiday Jam tonight at 7 p.m. at The Joint at inside the Hard Rock Hotel with Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, The Ting Tings and Carolina Liar, for your nightly dose of disco-and-new-wave-inspired rock. If this concert were held in 1983, it would be with The Cure, Duran Duran and Blondie, and it wouldn’t sound all that different. We don’t know who would stand in for Carolina Liar, because we’ve never heard of them. So we’re going to go ahead and just guess it would be The Scorpions. Oh, Klause Meine, is there no problem you can’t solve?

Before the show, the SpyOnVegas.com OpenBar is at Wasted Space from 6 to 9 p.m.
