LOADING UP ON LABOR DAY

If Oakenfold is settling down, does that make Vegas the Branson, Mo., of DJs?

If you want to spend your Labor Day doing something other than watch the Jerry Lewis Telethon (Still the closest you’ll come to actually hanging out with Dean Martin!) you have plenty to do. And we do mean plenty. The stops have been officially pulled for one last salute to hot days and cheap beer while summer still hovers on the calendar.

Paul Oakenfold starts his first United States residency this weekend at Rain inside the Palms with the launch of Perfecto, his weekly Saturday party designed just for the club. Oakenfold’s previous residencies have only been in Britain. The Perfecto debut, though, is just the tip of the iceberg for this weekend’s packed calendar. Here’s a selection of festivities to facilitate your planning:

Old-school reigns Sunday night as Pure inside Caesars Palace sets up DJ Jazzy Jeff vs. DJ AM, while sister club LAX at Luxor has a live performance by The Sugar Hill Gang.

If celeb hosts are your thing, Friday night at The Venetian’s Tao features host by Perez Hilton; Ashley Paige of TLC’s Bikini or Bust leads the way at Blush inside Wynn Las Vegas; 12-Pack, Megan and Heat of I Love Money are at Torrid inside Planet Hollywood Resort; while Saturday at Prive inside Planet Hollywood Resort features Kourtney Kardashian. On Sunday, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte DJs at The Bank inside Bellagio.

Should you want to go with music, Katy Perry performs at Rok inside New York-New York Saturday night. Friday will see Tyga do a set at Mirage’s Jet. DJ Paul Van Dyk is at Studio 54 inside MGM Grand Sunday night. Hawthorne Heights kicks things off tonight with a performance at Rio’s Voodoo Beach at 6 p.m. More intimate performances can be found at Revolution Lounge Sunday night inside The Mirage with the Saloon Door Slammers for Live Revolution, and Doors cover band Mojo Rising at McFadden’s inside the Rio.

Sometimes, you just want to cut to the chase and go straight for the dolled-up dames. Enter The Strippers and Hustlers Ball Saturday and Sunday at The Orleans or the Pimp ‘n Ho Rockstars Ball Sunday night at Rain.
