NEW BLOCK, SAME KIDS

Donnie, what the hell happened, man? You look like you’re going to cry out the lyrics to ‘Hangin’ Tough.’
The New Kids on the Block are clocking in just shy of 40 and will still be trotting out “The Right Stuff” on tour. Ready to hang yourself yet? We thought so.
Donnie Wahlberg celebrated his 39th birthday at Jet inside The Mirage Saturday night, reflecting on a simpler time. And easier time. A time when five white kids could release this on their debut album and not have it sink their career.
Donnie was joined by Joey McIntyre and Danny Wood, who serenaded their bandmate with “Happy Birthday” and not, disappointingly, “Step by Step.” They did, however, have the new NKOTB single called, uh, “Single” played through the club. They said they expect big things by follow-up tracks, “Song,” “Tune” and “Ditty.”
McIntyre drank vodka/Red Bulls with his wife, Barrett, while Danny was dancing and necking with several ladies. throughout the night. Donnie hung with the go-go dancers after having recently been served with divorce papers by wife, Kim. So there are New Kids getting divorced. Are we the only ones who see how batshit insane this all is? Anyone? Just us? New Kids? Divorce? Anyone? Nevermind. Also hanging out were Donal Logue and director Benny Boom.
Before Jet, the New Midlife Kids Guys dined at Yellowtail, and last night they filmed the video for “Single” at Jet, along with producer Ne-Yo.

Midlife guys? So original, I’m sure. Why are you so bitter about this? He’s just celebrating his birthday. Why would I hang myself? Then I’d miss out on all the great reunion events going on with the New Kids on the Block! It’s just a name. Relax. And why poke fun at the name of their new song? They’re aren’t the first music artist to have a song named “Single.” Natasha Bedingfield released a song with the same title just a few years ago. Why don’t you go cap on her about it because that’s news.
Why am I so bitter? Because I had to spend most of junior high listening to “The Right Stuff” over and over and over again at every party, dance or function I went to. And now I’ll have my revenge! Take that, New Kids who aren’t reading this website! Take that, overly protective fans who take everything personally! I’ve got to say, it feels good. Kind of like being a mad scientist.
Dude, did someone really take this seriously enough to defend NKOTB while knockin you down?
I’m not sure whether to laugh … or laugh harder.
I’m a little disappointed actually. The Backstreet fans were much more dedicated. Why, I suspect even the All 4 One community (You know: The 4-Heads) would put forth more stalwart an effort.
