0831SUN: THE ROUNDUP

Joel Madden: Church DJ. (Via myspace.com/joelpac)

Joel Madden — he’s the non-Paris Hilton-dating half of Good Charlotte, for those of you keeping score at home — spins at The Bank inside Bellagio at 10:30 p.m. Madden has to put food on the table for Nicole Ritchie somehow. Click for more words and pictures »

0830SAT: THE ROUNDUP

Katy Perry will cut you. (Via myspace.com/katyperry)

Are you sick of that “I Kissed a Girl” song yet? No? You sure? It’s been on an awful lot. Still into it, huh? All right, well, now’s your chance to see it performed live before Katy Perry fades away to join Dexy’s Midnight Runners and EMF in the dustbin of pop music history, as she kicks off Rok’s opening weekend at New York-New York. She hits the pink carpet at 11 p.m. Bring cherry Chapstick, ladies, and maybe she’ll pen a Sapphic ode to you, too. Click for more words and pictures »

REID KEEPS IT SAUCY AT BLUSH

Seven sheets to the wind.

Tara Reid was in Blush at Wynn Las Vegas celebrating the end of MAGIC and the launch of her Mantra line along with her boyfriend and others. The group killed a bottle of Goose in an hour and was — ahem — assisted out of the club by her beau.

0829FRI: THE ROUNDUP

Megan and Whiteboy, sittin’ in a tree … (Via myspace.com/megan_hauserman)

Torrid kicks off Labor Day Weekend by wallowing in good, old-fashioned, reality TV bottom-of-the-barrel goodness by bringing in eliminated I Love Money castmembers 12 Pack (David Amerman) and Heat (Jason Rosell); and Megan Hauserman, who as far as we know, isn’t done yet. But if she wasn’t getting the axe, would she be out in public with these two also-rans? Someone go get our magnifying glass and deerslayer cap. There’s investigation to be done. WHO’S HOUSE?

Somewhere, Jam Master Jay is putting a sick beat behind this photo. (Via MTV.com)

Vanessa and Angela Simmons, daughters of the Rev. Run dined with a friend at Dos Caminos inside The Palazzo. They went with sangria, tacos, corn on the cob, refried beans and sweet potato fries, which, we’re pretty sure was the menu DMC rattled off in Christmas in Hoillis.

Also at the restaurant last night was Miami Ink’s Chris Nunez who sat at the bar with friends and may or may not have been chillin’ and coolin’ just like a snowman.

HOOPS PLAYERS CONTINUE INVASION

Lisa Mackay: Our last line of defense against hardwood hegemony. (Photo by Alex Loc Thieu)

Clearly, David Stern is planning on having the NBA take over all of Las Vegas, much in the same way the Harlem Globetrotters have their own planet and advanced society. How else to explain why Stern has sent his powerful and terrible minions to establish some sort of pick-and-rolling base camp among our clubs?

Once again, Chauncey Billups of the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta’s Mike Bibby and Corey Maggette of the Warriors were out and about, popping up this time at Tryst inside Wynn Las Vegas last night. Also there, perhaps to negotiate with these three-draining super-spies were Playboy cover model Lisa Mackay and UFC fighters Kenny Florian and Josh Koscheck.

Mackay and Koscheck turned up later at Drai’s inside Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, where Miss Nevada, Veronica Grabowski, was there with a group of friends. Thursday was the first night DJ Big Dee set up shop in the hip-hop room, which he will share the residency with DJ Franzen.

LOVE ROCK CITY

Paul Stanley in a rare photo where someone else is wearing more makeup than him. (Photo by Ana Dobrijevic)

KISS frontman Paul Stanley and wife Erin Sutton strutted into the 7 p.m. performance of Love at The Mirage last night. Before the show, Stanley shopped at the boutique and bought himself a women’s Beatles T-shirt, which, frankly we’d have been more shocked if he had actually bought himself men’s clothes.

After the show, the couple met the cast and crew backstage where Stanley signed the wall of fame
“All you need is Love and KISS.” And then he tried to sell the cast a KISS Kasket.

Stanley also turned up at N9NE Steakhouse inside the Palms, where he had dinner with George Maloof. KISS plays The Pearl tonight at 8 p.m. Also at the hotel were Hinder, rolling into the Playboy Club with a group of 10 that included Phil Maloof. They mixed up their Ketel One and Jaegermeister with Captain Morgan’s Private Stock. Hinder goes tonight with Staind and 3 Doors Down at Mandalay Bay.

0828THURS: THE ROUNDUP

Exposing the painful tragedy of Labor Day Weekend. (Via myspace.com)

What better way to prepare yourself for a jam-packed three-day weekend than by bringing yourself down with emo act Hawthorne Heights? Seriously, this way everything else will seem all that much better afterwards, the way simple water tastes super sweet after you’ve just heaved up your 12th shot of Patron; or Andre the Giant seems especially tall if you’re standing next to him in a shallow pit. Or, you know, would, if he weren’t dead. To get your free ticket to the show with The Day After and Mickey Avalon at Rio’s Voodoo Beach, hit up SpyOnVegas.com. Click for more words and pictures »

HILTON FETES CLOTHING LINES

Does — does she have Brett Favre’s jaw? (Photo by Erik Kabik | Retna)

Nicky Hilton headed up the celebration of her Chick and Nicholai lines at LAX inside Luxor last night, starting first at Company American Bistro before entering the club, where she was joined by a big crew. Also at LAX was Keyshia Cole, who was with a small group of friends. We’d like to think this disparity in posse size is all that stopped a full blown West Side Story-esque rumble from breaking out.

Michael Jordan and Charles Oakley sat together to drink Cristal, while across the floor Baron Davis of the Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis’ Antoine Walker, Milwaukee’s Tyronn Lue and Damon Jones, Tony Allen of the Boston Celtics, Larry Hughes of the Bulls, Detroit’s Chauncey Billups, Kelenna David Azubuike of the Warriors, Charlotte’s Nazr Mohammed, Antoine Wright of the Dallas Mavericks and Calvin Booth of the Timberwolves all gathered to party and, presumably, open training camp.

Walker and Jones had dinner together at Fix inside Bellagio, while Celtics coach Doc Rivers ate at the sushi bar inside Sushi Roku at Caesars Palace with a friend. Even the owners got into the act, with Suns owner Robert Sarver dining with Palms and Kings owner George Maloof. Click for more words and pictures »
