FLIP-TURNING HEADS

Good thing these swimsuits are so flattering. (Photo by Ray Alamo | SpyOnVegas.com)

This week’s Vanity Afterhours at CatHouse in the Luxor is set to feature a Sunset Tan bikini fashion show as part of the fun.

Janelle Perry and models will reportedly showcase, “original designs to flatter every woman,” which actually means “original designs to flatter every woman who has time to go to the gym, flosses and isn’t still wearing their old high school swim team suit eight years later.”

It’s not until tomorrow night, but that doesn’t leave much time to achieve George Hamilton-like levels of tan greatness. Doors at 1 a.m.

HILTON STOMPS INTO PURE

Paris Hilton: big feet, warm heart. (Photo by Hew Burney | SpyOnVegas.com)

Veritable Renaissance woman Paris Hilton celebrates the launch of her footwear line at Pure in Caesars Palace tonight.

Normally there’d be a witty or passively judgmental commentary here, but we’ve heard Hilton’s saddled with some canoes for feet and, knowing what that’s like, we’ll back off. For now. If she misses one more support group meeting though – all bets are off. It was her week to bring the coffee.

NOTICEABLE LACK OF HULK!SMASH

Sal Masekela’s eyes are actually a silent protest of superhero discrimination. (Photo by Erik Kabik | Retna)

At Saturday’s Smashtime party at Body English, the following people were in attendance:

  • Lil Jon

  • Basketball players Shawn Marion and Paul Pierce
  • Prison Break’s Amaury Nolasco
  • Whitney Port and Justin Bobby of The Hills
  • Ben Lyons, Sal Masekela and Catt Sadler of E!’s Daily 10

Still missing from Smashtime’s guest list, despite the obvious connection? Bruce Banner.

BEVERLY HILLS HITS VEGAS, FIGURATIVELY

One of these girls has slept with Luke Perry. (Photo by Erik Kabik | Retna)

It can’t be that great in Beverly Hills, as star of the soon-to-come and soon-to-go new 90210 series, AnnaLynn McCord, picked Vegas as the venue for her 21st birthday. We can only assume the Peach Pit was full up.

McCord started the day in a VIP cabana at Venus Pool Club at Caesars, where basketball player Shawn Marion and boxer Sergio Mora were also spotted being model citizens.

With an entourage of family and friends on her heels, McCord, who has also done work on Nip/Tuck, stopped at Social House in Treasure Island for yellowtail jalapeno and Kobe sliders before sashaying over to Pure, also at Caesars, where an amazing remix of the 90210 theme song, complete with fist-pumping, was not played. McCord was spotted at Venus Pool Club again on Sunday.

DUCKS NO LONGER FLY TOGETHER

Does that look like the face of one of the “Bash Brothers” to you?

In town no doubt to lend support and guidance to Team USA basketball, Elden Henson, also known as Fulton Reed – an important part of 1994’s Junior Goodwill Games Team USA – was at The Bank in the Bellagio Friday night.

Also at The Bank were Newline Cinemas CEO Richard Brenner, actress Amy Smart and actor Jeremy Piven, who was celebrating his birthday and who, without any Team USA experience, did not warrant higher placement in this blog. If Piven had shown up to The Bank in a t-shirt that said, “The Bank,” therefore making him “that guy,” we would’ve maybe moved him up.

OLYMPICS APPARENTLY IN THE BAG

Now these were guys with drive. This picture was taken at 2 a.m. on a Friday, four months before the games. (Via NBA.com)

Proving that Team USA is nothing if not entirely focused on the upcoming Olympics, teammates Kobe Bryant, Jason Kidd and Lebron James had a quiet evening together Friday night. In Las Vegas. At a nightclub. With Cristal. The three held what was clearly a strategy meeting at Blush in the Wynn.

Also in the house was The Real World’s Frank Roessler, who was celebrating his birthday. We would make a comment about him not preparing for some big, future event, too, but his big, future event is probably another party. Way to stay on task, kiddo.

WALKER DOESN’T WALK ELSEWHERE

Walker wore a similar face all weekend – slightly cheeky disinterest. (Via Daylife.com)

The NBA’s Antoine Walker went two in a row at the 40/40 Club in the Palazzo over the weekend, which we’re told is because he couldn’t move fast enough to get anywhere else in time for last call. No hustle, that guy.

Joining Walker on Saturday night was a veritable who’s who for those with a very specific knowledge set – that is, people with a lot of time to watch sports on their hands. Spotted in the club were boxers David Estrada and Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs, Joe Smith of the Cleveland Cavs and former basketball-er Howard Wright.

WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE

We don’t recognize them either.
Remember that episode of Saved by the Bell where the gang double-booked the Malibu Sands Beach Club and there were not one, but two, parties set to take place on one night? And then everybody eventually partied in harmony, lulled into a sense of peace and oneness by the inimitable Zack Morris charm? Jet at the Mirage was exactly like that Friday night, but with Dwayne Wade and cast members from The Real World: Hollywood playing the part of “group of old people” and “group of teenagers,” respectively.

Wade, in town on Team USA business, brought along actress Gabrielle Union and together with the rest of the “old people,” partook in a little Grey Goose, Patron and Moet.

Sarah Ralston and Kimberly Alexander represented for The Real World. We’d bet Puck didn’t show this week, with the police on his back after last week’s Jet escapades.

JUST A LITTLE FINCH

You know she’s making him wear that visor so no one notices his hair is nicer.

Putting ponies, streamers and balloon parties behind her (for now – they always come back), Ashley Scott of Maxim’s Hot 100 of 2008 celebrated her birthday Friday night at Christian Audigier inside Treasure Island.

Scott was joined by actress Amy Smart and comedian/actor/former-Heather-Locklear-boytoy David Spade for the occasion, which included a red rose and sparkler-topped yellow cake that put Fudgie the Whale to shame.

The group stretched the night out all the way to last call, at which point the club’s staff gathered together to wave a collective buh-bye directed right at Spade.

POWWOW AT TAO

If you stare long enough and relax your eyes, George Clooney appears in that empty space. (Photo by Erik Kabik | Retna)

Almost two months after reports surfaced of a split with George Clooney and his nippled Batsuit (rumored to be the actual chest-related issue that spurred the break up), Sarah Larson was on the red carpet at Tao at the Venetian Friday night.

WIth a group of 10 in tow, Larson dined on Chilean sea bass satay, pad Thai noodles and Tao’s signature giant fortune cookie before heading up to a champagne-stocked VIP table on the dance floor. No word on what the cookie’s fortune said, but we’ve witnessed some pretty prescient snack foods in our time and imagine it mentioned something about booze and house music.

So You Think Can Dance judge Nigel Lythgoe was also at the club, drowning his sorrows in beer and Grey Goose while, presumably, witnessing many, many people who think they can dance. Click for more words and pictures »
