Simon at Palms Place kicked off its new duck party last night, wherein 25,000-some-odd rubber ducks floated on the water. Ernie would have been left breathless in sensory overload. Some specially marked ducks could be hunted for prizes, with the added benefit of not having that damn dog laugh at you if you came up empty handed. DJ Adam 12 of She Wants Revenge took care of the music. DJ Samantha Ronson is on deck for next week’s mallard-mania. SpyOnVegas.com caught the whole event here.

Sarah Larson, actor Jason Statham and others had dinner at the restaurant prior to the quack-fest.

Meanwhile, over at Moon Las Vegas native and Rookie of the Year actor Thomas Ian Nichols and Sacramento Kings power forward Kenny Thomson both did their thing. Nichols and wife, DJ Colete, talked shop with Satellite Bar guest DJ Dave Aude. Thomson didn’t roll in until 2 a.m., staying until 4.

At Nove, Don Cheadle, Annie Duke and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian entertained a group of 10, including two guests who won dinner with the celebs through an auction. Cheadle shared his tale of being charged at by a rhinoceros in Africa. That explains why everyone was enthusiastically wolfing down rhino steaks. The hide’s a little chewy, but after that it tastes like chicken.
