DO YA FEEL IRISH, PUNK? WELL, DO YA?

Stuff white people like.
St. Patrick’s Day is Monday, but you know how we like to roll in Las Vegas – any holiday is just an excuse to spend three days blitzed. Thankfully, a number of Vegas institutions are paving the way for three days of Irish car bombs, Celtic music and Lucky Charms. We’ve rounded up a big list, though by no means is this list complete.
On Saturday, March 15, the Fremont Street Experience downtown kicks off three days of free concerts on its Third Street Stage with Wild Celts at 6 p.m. and Whiskey Galore at 9 p.m. Whiskey Galore brings its spirited Celtic sound back to that stage Sunday and Monday at 8 p.m. as well. And, of course, green beer will be available on the premises. Shocking, we know.
When you think of Fish Camp at Town Square, usually Ireland doesn’t come to mind. But, of course, everyone’s Irish on St. Paddy’s Day, so this Southern gem is bringing in the Martin Percival School of Irish Dance Group to perform more than a little jig from 11:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and Monday. Fish Camp is also offering food and drink specials including traditional corn beefed hash, fried green tomatoes and surely plenty of Irish spirits.
A more authentic Irish experience is to be found at Nine Fine Irishmen inside the New York-New York, where the Irish pub hosts a three-day Celtic Festival in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, beginning Saturday. There will be live music from Elevation, Sin e Ri-Ra, the Celtic Rockers and others, as well as the serving of traditional beers – such as including Guinness, Harp and Smithwicks – and Irish whiskies. The three-day bash will wrap up with the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade late Monday night, led by marching bagpipe players from Coyote Ugly to the faux Brooklyn Bridge. As part of the proceedings, nine new inductees will be added to the Irish pub’s Wall of Fine.
On the blessed day itself, Monday, March 17, Dick’s Last Resort inside the Excalibur Hotel & Casino is holding its own bash, though aside from serving up traditional Irish dishes and green beer, don’t expect too much true Celtic flavor – unless cover band Panama (who plays at 9 p.m.) has learned a few limericks.
If all you’re looking for is a cheap buzz, the El Cortez Hotel and Casino, located on the east end of the Fremont Entertainment District, is offering $3.75 pints of Newcastle, Gordon Biersch, Guinness, Anchor Steam and other premium drafts during the evening of St. Patrick’s.
And for those of you with naughtier interests, you might want to stop by Penthouse Club Las Vegas (3525 W. Russell Road) from 7 to 10 p.m. as AdultFriendFinder.com hosts a St. Paddy’s celebration for members and interested parties. Heck, come for the free Jameson drinks from 7 to 9 p.m. if nothing else.
