At last night’s VIP premier of the new film 21, director Robert Luketic and cast members including Kevin Spacey, Laurence Fishburne, Jim Sturgess, Kate Bosworth and Aaron Yoo introduced the movie to the hundreds of invited guests packed into Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino’s Stomp Out Loud showroom.

The film, based on the true story of MIT students who used advanced card-counting techniques to win big in Las Vegas casinos, won a special award for “Best Ensemble” at this week’s ShoWest tradeshow. Indeed, the mostly fresh-faced cast made 21 thoroughly enjoyable, and judging by the enthusiastic applause at the end, the audience agreed.

Immediately after the screening, the filmmakers, stars and audience members walked through a gauntlet of showgirls for the after-party in “Club 21″ — a makeshift casino-cum-nightclub set up in Planet Hollywood’s mezzanine ballrooms. It was an elaborate and fun set-up, with a central bar on a raised platform dividing the massive room, two dance floors, two sets of DJs, shadow dancers, blackjack tables, multiple peripheral bars and, of course, a roped-off VIP area for the 21 crew, who found themselves surrounded by onlookers most of the evening.
