THREE CELEB-FILLED NIGHTS AT PRIVÉ

Lil Jon, Kat Von D, Flavor Flav

It’s a big weekend for Privé, the two-month-old nightclub inside Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Tonight Kat Van D, of L.A. Ink, brings her tattooed body down to host a night of Friday madness at the club. Then tomorrow rapper-turned-reality TV star Flavor Flav makes sure you know what time it is when he brings his clock necklace to host Saturday at Privé. And finally, Lil Jon gets things crunking for “Money for Nothing” this Monday, where cash drops throughout the evening make Lil Jon’s grill seem less conspicuous.

INDULGE IN FASHION AND … NASCAR?

Body English
Ladies, prepare to indulge! (Photo by Ray Alamo | SpyOnVegas.com)

Indulge Fridays at Body English inside the Hard Rock Hotel is more than just a successful weekly party. It’s more than just a ladies’ night, where Las Vegas’ honeys pay no cover and drink free champagne before midnight. It’s also potentially lucrative, as top makeup, fashion and accessory lines give away thousands of dollars in merchandise.

Tonight, Vegas boutique Lot 9 will be on hand with more than $10,000 in giveaways, including such designers as Alice & Trixie, Fighting Eel and Nu Collective. How much more do you need to fulfill the ultimate girls’ night out?

Well, if NASCAR racers are your type of thing, maybe get to the Hard Rock a few hours before Indulge’s 10:30 p.m. start time to meet Fitz Motorsports-sponsored drivers Mike Bliss and Kenny Wallace at The Joint, where the fast-driving dudes will be signing autographs from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. You didn’t forget it’s NASCAR Week, did you?

GET ON YOUR HOG TO SAVE THE BOOBS

So let’s say you’re going to throw a charity motorcycle run to benefit the American Cancer Society. Of course, the ACS is dedicated to eliminating all types of cancer – lung, colon, prostate – but none of those internal organs are very pretty or offer catchy names. So what type of cancer might inspire a name the public can latch on to for a fund raising event?

Breast. You guessed it. On Sunday, March 9, The Point 97.1-FM presents the “Save the Boobs Poker Run” starting at Hogs & Heifers Saloon (201 N. Third St.) at 11 a.m. The charity bike run will stop at various spots where riders will play a round of poker, including Mountain Springs Saloon, PT’s, Harley Davidson and Scores. After the run, the party is back at Hogs & Heifers with free barbecue and live music by Southern Stue.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. that day. Riders pay a $30 entry fee; passengers are $10 each. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, whose new motto is “Fighting to Save Boobs Since 1913.” Or maybe that’s our motto.

CONNER, MARGOLIS GLAM UP TAO

Cindy Margolis, Tara Conner
Next to Tara Conner, Cindy Margolis is looking a little old. We’d still download her. (Photos by Erik Kabik)

You might remember on Monday we mentioned that Cindy Margolis, the most downloaded woman on the internet, and Tara Conner, the former Miss USA with a penchant for cocaine and booze, would be hosting the 2008 Nightclub & Bar Magazine Top 100 Bars and Clubs Party at Tao inside the Venetian. Well, that was last night. And they did. And … well, we don’t really have any juicy details or anything, but we figured you’d like to spend some time ogling blonde hotties. So enjoy!

IT’S A FLAIR WORLD, WE JUST DRINK IN IT

Flair!

Monday was an exciting night in the world of bartending, at least here in Las Vegas. As we mentioned earlier this week, Stella Artois crowned its Draught Master at Pure nightclub, and just down the Strip at The Palazzo, “The Greatest T.G.I. Friday’s Bartender in the World” was also named on Monday after fierce competition.

Tony Adams, a 25-year-old bartender from the Haymarket T.G.I. Friday’s location in London earned the coveted title – and a $10,000 check – after beating out seven other mixologists from around the globe, including Brian Zachau, the four-year-running U.S. champion.

This year’s World Bartender Competition saw 8,000 entrants from 60 countries. The eight finalists competed throughout the weekend in a variety of skills tests and compulsory and speed rounds. It was Adams’ distinctive flair techniques demonstrated during Monday night’s freestyle segment, where he dazzled not only the crowd of close to 1,500, but obviously judges as well. GOLDEN NUGGET PUTS ON ITS POKER FACE

Golden Nugget

Looks like the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas is looking to catch some of the spillover from the Rio’s World Series of Poker this year with its own month-long event, the Grand Poker Series, held June 6 through July 6 at the property’s Grand events center.

Featuring daily tournaments on more than 50 tables, 24/7 cash games, sit-and-go satellites and much more, including three bracelet events, the Grand Poker Series kicks off Friday, June 6 with a celebrity poker tournament, “Cards, Celebrities and a Cause,” hosted by Montel Williams to benefit his Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

The satellite tournaments will be held in the Golden Nugget poker room starting this Saturday, March 1. Players can compete to win a seat at the June 6 benefit, where half of the $1,000-per-person prize pool will be donated to the Montel Williams MS Foundation and the other half distributed to winning players. MIRAGE BARES IT ALL THIS SPRING

Bare Pool Lounge

Is it really almost pool season? I know this is Las Vegas and we don’t have the harshest winters around, but there was still snow on the mountains last time I checked. But sure enough, Bare Pool Lounge at the Mirage is kicking off the poolside party season early, opening on Thursday, March 13.

The adults-only experience — yes, kids, European-style sunbathing is all the rage at Bare, as its name implies — will again offer such luxuries as cocktail service, specialty food items, a raised VIP section, massages and music provided by live DJs. New this year is the custom glass pool cover that transforms the pool into a transparent dance floor. Can we get that for our bathtub at home?

Bare will be open Thursday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until May 1, when it opens seven days a week for your topless sunning pleasure.

Two-time Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold rocked the crowd at Moon nightclub atop the Palms’ Fantasy Tower last night with a DJ set that started about 12:30 a.m. After keeping the masses bouncing for two hours, Oakenfold joined his mostly female group of friends at his VIP table, which was loaded up with bottles of Ketel One, Perrier Jouet Fleur de Champagne and Grey Goose.

Downstairs at Playboy Club, reality TV personality and local Jennavecia Russo (The Bad Girls Club 2, Fear Factor) partied with a group of nine people, but kept a lid on any bad girl antics, merely kicking it with friends and Stoli Citron.

MELE MEL BRINGS HIS MESSAGE TO TABÚ

mele Mel

Slide at Tabú Ultra Lounge in the MGM Grand continues to keep the old-school alive this Thursday, Feb. 28 with a double dose of hip-hop royalty: Grammy-winning rap pioneer Grandmaster Mele Mel and DMC DJ Hall of Famer Grand Mixer DXT.

The duo will rock the turntables and the microphone during the Thursday night party celebrating the best in past and present of hip-hop culture. Mele Mel — who, along with the rest of the Furious Five, was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 — released his first solo album last year, Muscles. The beefy rapper has also been vying for a spot in the WWE, even attending pro wrestling school (they have those?).

Come out to Tabú on Thursday to check out these influential figures in hip-hop and the usual bevy of B-boys and B-girls. Just watch out for Mele Mel in case he tries a clothesline or elbow drop in the midst of his set.
